Our Story

We had questions about “calling”

Our team came together after finding we had many questions in common about God’s calling for our lives, such as:

  • With so many problems in the world, which one is God calling us towards? (Isaiah 6:8)

  • In what jobs can God have the greatest impact through us? Where can we most bring about justice and mercy? (Micah 6:8)

  • How do we balance hearing God’s voice with reason, evidence and science?

There’s surprisingly little Christian research on this, so we felt like we’d found a genuine niche.

We spent years in study and prayer

We spent five years studying and prayerfully considering these questions, alongside academics at Oxford, Cambridge and MIT.

We talked to the most thoughtful Christians we know, as well as the ones who have the greatest heart for the poor, including many Christians within the effective altruism movement.

We built this site to teach you what we learned and help you on your journey.

We converged on impactful careers

We are convinced that the best way for many Christians to have a meaningful and impactful career is to center their efforts around an important yet neglected issue, one that is near to God’s heart; and to tackle it wisely.

Careers are long, 80,000 hours long; that’s 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year for 40 years. This means that your choice of career might be the most important resource God has given you for living a meaningful and impactful life.

We pursue impact not for mere influence or glory in itself, but rather, for God’s glory; By impact, we mean concrete change that conforms with God’s redemptive plans to renew our fallen world.

We would love to partner with you to help you discern your calling from God towards a meaningful and impactful career.
